First Bloom Productions stands for impactful nonfiction storytelling. Producer Samantha Bloom is consistently drawn to character-driven stories centering on overlooked, misunderstood, or controversial topics to elicit dialogue and common understanding.
Samantha’s professional life has centered around quality documentary filmmaking. She works with Motto Pictures, an award-winning, boutique documentary production company. On a small team running multiple projects simultaneously, she has worn different hats—development producer, field producer, story producer and line producer–and is consistently drawn to character-driven stories about controversial or overlooked topics to elicit dialogue and common understanding. She also produces independently under her own banner, First Bloom Productions
Currently, Samantha is producing projects with directors including Pernille Rose Grønkjær and Julia Schwalb that will be released in 2026.
Previous work includes co-producing Alison Klayman’s Unfinished Business (Tribeca 2022) and Netflix’s Take Your Pills: Xanax (2022). She was a Production Coordinator on Maite Alberdi’s Oscar-nominated The Mole Agent (2020); a Production Associate on Nanfu Wang’s Peabody-Winning In The Same Breath(2021), and Laura Nix’s Peabody-Winning Inventing Tomorrow (2018); a Production Assistant on Todd Haynes’ The Velvet Underground (2020 Cannes Film Festival), Andre Hoermann’s Emmy-nominated Ringside (2019), and Nanfu Wang’s Oscar-shortlisted One Child Nation (2019).
Samantha is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America and New York Women in Film and Television.
